Many legal job positions await freshly-graduated law degree holders. Law firms are ready to pluck the best out of the best of each year's batch to employ them in entry-level legal job positions. Barristers or lawyers can get into legal job posts that specialise in specific areas. Legal job positions in intellectual property law, real estate, banking and finance among others are just some of the areas where law degree holders can specialize in. However, a legal job as a litigation lawyer may involve some tasks that some may find daunting, tiring or even boring through the course of time. Fortunately, there are other legal job occupations that are available for those who don't want to do the rigors of a legal job in litigation.
Law degree holders can still work in the courtroom without having to do litigation. Attorneys and barristers in judicial clerkship legal job positions still attend hearings in court but instead of performing lawyerly duties, they research and make recommendations on how to handle the cases.
Large companies and industries have their own departments that house people in legal job positions. These people take care of everyday tasks that involve varying degrees of legal work such as checking out contracts and licenses. Administrative duties may be assigned from time to time as people in these legal job positions also work closely with other departments such as the human resources and even finance. If needed, individuals in these legal job positions represent the company or corporation in litigation or in press releases.
Legal job posts in public service are also available for the law degree holder. Legal jobs can be found in public safety offices. People in these legal jobs aid health officers in assessing possible health risks and then prosecute liable entities if needed. NGOs fighting for a certain cause can also use people to fill in legal job positions in their group. However, experience, whether in court or in other areas of public service, is needed to pursue these legal job posts.
Lawyers and barristers make use of their thorough knowledge of the law in their jobs in defending their clients. However, when they get legal job positions in legislation, these people will get to make the laws. Attorneys employed in these legal job posts in legislation work closely with members of the legislature in the formulation of laws that will govern states or even the whole country. Tasks such as researching and even drafting special bills are done by people in these legal job positions.
